My mind has been opened to the world of Classical Music and Rex has been inspirational in selecting a stunning aray of concerts to attend – mainly in Auckland but I surprised him with one in San Francisco!
What’s coming up in 2011 with the NZSO
- 10th January 2007 at the Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco – Bruch:Violin Concerto No. 1 conducted by Kurt Masur and with Sarah Chang as soloist.
- Tchaikovsky
- 25th March 2010 – The Organ Symphony (Saint-Saëns Organ Symphony) on Auckland’s new Klais Orgelbau-built Town Hall organ
- 31st March 2011 – APO Great Classic Series – Arabian Nights. Two all-time classics in a concert of dramatic beauty. World renowned cellist David Geringas played Dvorak’s magnificent and much loved Cello Concerto followed by Rimsky-Korsakov’s exotic and lyrical interpretation of Scheherazade’s tales of The Arabian Nights.
